Massachusetts Movie Moments
Plenty of blockbuster hits have been filmed in the Bay State.
Boston is a strong city with colonial roots and plenty of New England pride- and is also a spot where many movies and TV shows have been filmed. Famous names have graced the city, such as Chris Evans, Robin Williams, Clark Gregg, and more. You’ll get wicked excited when you see this list we’ve compiled for you of your favorite movie/TV related attractions.
1) On Location Tours Boston
If you’re looking for a tour that offers the total movie/TV sightseeing package, no one does it better than On Location Tours. Many blockbuster hits have been filmed in Boston; see where Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy starred in the heat, stop by Harvard University where Elle Woods got her diploma in Legally Blonde, and see the bench where the late and legendary Robin Williams and Matt Damon sat in Good Will Hunting.
2) Cheers
When one thinks of TV in Boston, Cheers will be one of the first things that come to mind. You can visit the bar “where everybody knows your name,” in Beacon Hill, just across from Boston Commons. It was originally founded in 1969 under a different name, Bull & Finch Pub, and has since become one of the city’s number one destinations. Follow the Cheers Trail to Faneuil Hall, where you can actually dine and get drinks at the bar’s replica
3) Water Wizz
Head a little further south to Cape Cod and stop by Water Wizz, where hit movies The Way Way Back and Grown Ups were filmed. Water Wizz is Southern New England’s only water park; go on one of their wild water slides or float along the lazy river. Even during the off season, you can drive by and envision where your favorite movie stars once stood.
