The Founder of The Living Word Outdoor Drama is Rev. Frank Roughton Harvey. He presented Behold The Man in Atlanta, Ga., during The Civil Rights Movement and utilized an African-American male to portray Christ. To this day, the play is called The Miracle That Saved Atlanta.
Several famous guests, including Larry Gatlin, show up to The Living Word Outdoor Drama. This season, Nine Lashes and Shiloh will perform at the amphitheatre on Saturday, August 6. In 2015, Richard Green from The Adventures of Robin Hood (the original TV series) came to the Living Word.
The Living Word Outdoor Drama can also lay claim to fame that it is indeed Ohio’s Only Passion Play and is the second longest running (42 years) and second biggest behind The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
