Wisconsin is full of cheese...in a good way. As "The Dairy State," the U.S. actually gets about a quarter if this good stuff right from the local cows. Visitors will want to embrace their lactose-tolerant side. "Wisco," another name its been affectionately called, offers all kinds of attractions, restaurants and outdoors activities.

If visiting in the summertime, the Wisconsin Dells is a great place to take your family. Technically, the Dells are glacially formed gorges that stand along the banks of the Wisconsin River, but to most it's considered a water park mecca. Along with indoor and outdoor water rides, there's mini golf, horseback riding, amusement parks and more.
