Fun Facts

In 1881, the very first U.S. National Lawn Tennis Championships were hosted here. The event remained in Newport through 1914 when it moved to New York, ultimately becoming the US Open.

The actual trophies held by the US Open Champions are kept on display in the museum and sent to New York once a year when the champions are crowned.

The new HBO series The Gilded Age was filmed at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
