While in Quincy, visit the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area. Made of 34 islands along the Great Boston shoreline, it allows visitors to explore tide pools, walk through a Civil War-era fort, climb a lighthouse, hike through salt marshes, camp under the stars, or just relax.

Ferry service is available seasonally to Squantum Point Park, Marina Bay Quincy, Winthrop, and Fan Pier Seaport District Boston; change up your commute or take a day trip. Quincy and Marina Bay offer dining, shopping, and attractions; Quincy is also the ideal launching point for boaters.

Abigail Adams Monument in Boston is part of the Woman’s Memorial.

Founded in 1792, Quincy was split from Braintree and named after Colonel John Quincy, grandfather of Abigail Adams & John Quincy Adams.

In 1625 Quincy was part of Dorchester & Boston before becoming the North Precinct of Braintree in 1640.

The first Dunkin Donuts opened in Quincy.

In United States V. The Amistad

United States v. Schooner Amistad, was a US. Supreme Court case resulting from the rebellion of Africans on board the Spanish boat La Amistad in 1839. John Quincy Adams, defended the Africans in front of the Supreme Court in March 1841 to release the enslaved people.
